For more than 100 years, the Hillcrest family has gathered to celebrate God’s faithfulness. This year we’re celebrating “What God’s Growing.” The church family will gather for Harvest Dinner on Saturday, November 14, at 5:30 pm. It’s more than a meal–it’s a chance to celebrate together. The Hillcrest trustee team welcomes your help on Saturday morning, October 17, to help prepare our buildings and grounds for winter weather. Enjoy conversation and breakfast at 8:30 am then begin work at 9 am. Visit the display in the church lobby to sign up for a team. Children are welcome to participate with parent supervision.

The Jesus Way isn’t a new program or borrowed strategy. It’s our best understanding of what a faithful follower of Jesus looks like. Jesus invites us into a life of continual transformation–a life marked by His presence, His people, His mission, and His servant heart. Join us on the journey every Sunday morning this fall.

A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. A new 13-week session begins on Monday, September 14, 6:30-8 pm, with weekly meetings. Brochures are available at the church office with more details for anyone who can benefit from the supportive environment available at GriefShare.

Alpha is a 10-week series of group conversations that explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly environment. Starting on September 9, on Wednesday evenings guests will enjoy a meal, watch a short film, and share honest conversations about the big questions of life. Families with children from age 3 to 6th grade are invited to Awana’s Fall Fun Fair and Registration event on Wednesday, September 2, 6:30-8:30 pm. Learn more about our weekly Bible clubs for kids, connect with other parents, enjoy fun activities, and register for the new club year.

It’s time for one more summertime picnic featuring pulled pork and corn on the cob followed by important news about new and returning ministries for fall at the next Quarterly Gathering on Sunday, August 23, at 5:30 pm. Sign up in the church lobby or call the church office to let us know you plan to attend.

If you’re new to attending Hillcrest and haven’t yet attended a Newcomer event, you’re invited to the Newcomer Lunch on Sunday, August 16, following the 11 am service. You’ll enjoy a great meal, get acquainted with staff and key leaders, learn more about Hillcrest ministries, plus have time to ask questions in a casual environment. Call the church office to sign up.

Experience one of the most redemptive stories of the Bible as it comes to life in Sight and Sound’s original stage production “Joshua.” Planned with older adults in mind, an overnight bus excursion to Lancaster, PA, on September 25-26 will include coach bus transportation, lodging, and two meals. Contact the church office for cost and other reservation details. Deposits are due July 26.

Students from grades 6-12 are invited to the Collver backyard and pool for fun and food on Sunday, July 19, 5:30-8:30 pm. Youth can connect with other students while enjoying outdoor fun. We’re expecting God to do great things during Emerald Crossing VBS and will celebrate that on Sunday, July 19. The 8:45 a.m. Traditional Service will feature a special report from our VBS leaders; this service will be livestreamed as usual.
