New Seating Coming
Renovation to our Sanctuary/Auditorium begins in March with fresh paint, stone, carpet, and 230 comfortable new chairs, all planned to be completed by the end of summer. You can help provide a place for future generations of worshippers by donating $75 per chair. Simply select one or more cards from the special Make a Place at Hillcrest display in the lobby, and place the card(s) with your gift an offering plate.
Discover the real meaning of Easter as the entire family explores the events of the last week of Jesus’ life leading up to the Resurrection with kid-friendly, hands-on activities. Our spring prayer focus, “31 Days to Standing in the Gap” begins Monday, March 6. To help kick-off the month-long prayer emphasis, we’ll gather for a Neighborhood Prayer Walk on Saturday, March 4, meeting at Hillcrest at 1:30 pm. Join us to walk the Hillcrest property and surrounding neighborhood to pray together for the extension of God’s Kingdom in Jamestown.
Hillcrest provides summer camp scholarships to help encourage families to send their kids and teens to a Christian camp where they can grow in their faith. Students who are regular attendees at Hillcrest or its ministries are invited to apply. Applications are available for download or at the Information Station in the church lobby and are due March 1.
After the funeral, when the cards and flowers have stopped coming, most of the people around you return to their normal lives. But grief continues and you feel alone. A GriefShare support group provides help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. A new GriefShare session begins at Hillcrest on Monday, Feb. 27, meeting weekly at 6 pm. Caring for a loved one who is ill or in failing health can be hard, and we want to help. The Caregivers Support Group will resume meeting on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 pm and continuing monthly on the 4th Sunday of each month. Pastor Steve will address a topic relevant to caregivers and will lead discussion and prayer. Find renewed hope and strength for your journey. Guests are welcome.
Set aside the evening to enjoy the movie Noah’s Ark from Sight and Sound productions along with popcorn and snacks. SALT, our older adult ministry, hosts the event and invites the entire church family to join them at 6 pm, Sunday, Feb. 19.
