Fall Concert of Prayer

Today we join our hearts and voices to offer up songs and prayers of thanksgiving. Our Concert of Prayer will follow four “movements”, praising God for spiritual, material, physical, and relational blessings. Prepare your heart to “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise!” (Psalm 100:4).

How to Have a Conquering Confidence

Our lives have many wonderful blessings, but are also full challenges, struggles and pain. God wants us to have a confidence so rooted in Him that we thrive, even when life is hard. We will find practical help and encouragement as we return with Pastor Mark to Romans 8 for today’s message “How to Have a Conquering Confidence,” the final part our fall series, The Glory of the Gospel.

Spirit vs. Flesh

Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?” (Romans 7:24). Last Sunday we looked at the internal conflict experienced by the apostle Paul and by every one of us. The good news of the gospel is that God sets us free through Jesus Christ! Today as we turn to Romans 8 we consider how we enter into and live in that freedom every day through Pastor Steve’s message “Spirit vs. Flesh,” Part…

Every Christians Chronic Conflict

The Bible reveals “we have been given everything we need for life and godliness”. (2 Peter 1:3) If this is true, why is it that so many Christians continue to struggle with old patterns of thinking and living? As we continue our study of Paul’s letter to the Romans, Pastor Mark will help us get to the root of the problem and prepare us for what may be a surprising solution! Today’s message is titled, “Every Christian’s Chronic Conflict,” part…

When Death Becomes Life

Today we continue with Part 6 in our series “The Glory of the Gospel” as Pastor Ben teaches from Romans 6. In this passage the Apostle Paul interrupts his explanation of the Gospel to address two practical questions of faith. Today’s message “When Death Becomes Life” will help us understand what it means to truly live in new life and freedom in Christ.

The Love You Need

Today we continue to with our series, “The Glory of the Gospel” as Pastor Mark teaches from Romans 5. He explains, “The wounds caused by love withheld by parents, spouses or others close to us can be deep. This leaves many people starving for love.” This morning’s message “The Love You Need” will help us to find the love that our soul craves as we draw near to the Jesus, the one who loved us enough to die for us.

You Didn’t Earn It

We’re all used to a paycheck reflecting the work we provide for our employer or clients, but God’s economy runs completely contrary to the familiar work-reward system. Today Pastor Jon brings us good news about God’s economy from Romans 4 in his message “You Didn’t Earn It,” Part 4 in our series from Paul’s letter to the Romans.

You’ve Been Summoned to God’s Courtroom

Every day people appear in courtrooms across the country to face charges ranging from traffic violations to serious crimes. In part 3 of our fall study of the Book of Romans, Pastor Mark explains that “many people try to ignore the fact that we will all appear one day before the final Judge.” He asks, “Are we ready?” Today’s message is titled, “You’ve Been Summoned to God’s Courtroom”. Communion will be observed during today’s service.

The News We Don’t Want to Hear

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is really good news, but only for those who realize the depth of the bad news. In part 2 of our new fall series from the book of Romans, Pastor Mark shares “The News We Don’t Want to Hear” from Romans 1:18-32.

I Am Not Ashamed

The book of Romans is a timeless masterpiece which has shaped the course of history and provided a firm foundation for our faith. Today we kick-off our fall, 9-week sermon series, “The Glory of the Gospel,” delving into pages that have inspired revolutions, transformed lives, and continue to explain the wonders of salvation in Jesus. Prepare to be challenged by this first message from Pastor Mark, “I Am Not Ashamed” from Romans 1.

Good News to the Poor

As we continue this morning to focus on God’s vision for Hillcrest, we consider an emphasis found throughout the Bible: God’s heart for the poor. What does Jesus mean when He says that He brings “good news to the poor,” and how do His words give direction to our church’s ministry and mission in the time and place God has placed us? Have your Bibles open to Luke 4:14-30 for Pastor Steve’s message “Good News to the Poor.”
