Hillcrest Christian Preschool is excited to announce Mrs. Kara Kartez as the new Lead Teacher. Kara has been part of the preschool team for the past seven years as a teacher aide and brings both professional expertise and a deep love for children to her new role. She holds degrees from Penn State and Edinboro University, with teaching experience at Eisenhower Jr/Sr High School, and has served in children’s ministry for over a decade.
“Kara has been such a blessing to our preschool team,” said Laurie Lassinger, HCPS Administrator. “She will bring fresh ideas while holding on to the things that make Hillcrest special.” Family Pastor Jon Meyer added, “Her strong academic background, classroom experience, and love for Christ-centered teaching make her the perfect fit to guide our preschool children.”
Kara and her husband Kevin live in Lakewood with their daughter Elise, while their son Chase is a sophomore at James Madison University. Reflecting on her new role, Kara shared, “I was humbled and thrilled to be offered the role of lead teacher, and it felt like it was truly God’s timing to say ‘yes.’ I look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing!”
